Here's a gratuitous picture of me in the Shasta. Everything is finished on the inside (and out), just need to take pictures!

PAINT 2.0

Finally picked a color for the inside. It's called "Seaglass", by Martha Stewart (lawl) sadly, the lighting/time of day/ angles do the paint ZERO justice, and hardly look like it actually does. But it will have to do. *While there are only pictures of Nick doing the work, I have seaglass covered hands and a pair of ruined J Brands to prove that I helped.

Oh! Saw this really cute trailer down at Memorial Park in Nyack along the Hudson River today. Sadly it was just a vehicle to push hot dogs.

Curtains

Still awaiting the cushions for the camper. In the mean time, I've been searching for fabric for curtains. I can't decide on anything interior (paint, fabrics, flooring) it all just seems to serious. Ha. My life must be pretty spectacular if this is too serious. Halp!

I'm leaning mostly towards the moth pattern and the first yellow one. I found all of these fabrics on THIS website, which is full of amazing retro fabrics/pillows.

The Shasta got (two) fresh coats of paint this week. Couldn't really find any resources online as to what the original paint looked like when new, so we kind of just had to wing it. Luckily my father is extremely well versed in the art of painting things. Sadly, the Shasta sits in a place that doesn't get much sun, so the pictures aren't great, but I promise it looks amazing!

In other news, still waiting on the cushions from the seamstress. Decided to go with this tile, cut into the original 9" squares.

So this is my new (and old) Shasta Compact. I believe it's from 1961-1963 (somewhere around that), the mirror on the closet door says '61, so that's a strong possibility. I picked it up from a really amazing man in Connecticut last weekend, it felt so right buying it because of how much it seemed to mean to him. I'm so excited about the renovation, even though it's already burning through my savings. Today I ordered the custom cushions for the bench seats/bed. I picked out what my mother referred to as "a grandma pattern" teal fabric. Outrageously expensive! I hope the measurements were exact. Har har.

I'm hoping to update this blog very often, documenting the entire process (as well as the aftermath traveling!) Stay tuned...
